Dr. Wayne C. Wolfson, Chiropractor,

Awarded Regulation's Highest Honor

Dr. Wayne C. Wolfson, Orlando chiropractor, was recognized with chiropractic regulation's highest individual honor at the 81st Annual Congress of the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards, May 5, 2007, in St. Louis, Missouri.

The George Arvidson Award for Meritorious Service to Chiropractic Regulation honors integrity, service, sacrifice, vision, and commitment in the arena of chiropractic licensure. Dr. Wolfson is the 15th recipient of the award which was first presented in 1993.

The Federation noted that "His service has been characterized by humility, generosity, and strength of character."

Dr. Wolfson is renowned in the regulatory community for his hard work and legacy of service. He leads by example, as a career member of his local, state, and national associations, with professional service in numerous areas, including legislative initiatives. He was named Chiropractor of the Year by the Florida Chiropractic Association in 2002.

A life-long learner, he has also been active in his community, serving on the board of directors of the Orlando Museum of Art, the board of trustees of Valencia Community College, and as past chairman of the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce.

It is his work in public protection, however, that has earned him recognition by the Arvidson Award. A tireless advocate of patient-centered chiropractic care, Dr. Wolfson is past chair of the Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine, where he recently received the Board's Distinguished Service Award. He serves on the interprofessional Florida Patient Safety Corporation which was established in 2004 by the legislature, and was recently appointed to the Grievance Committee for the Ninth Judicial Circuit of the Florida Bar Association.

On the national and international level, he is a past president of the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards, past member of the board of directors of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and current member of the governing board for NCMIC Group, Inc., the chiropractic profession's largest malpractice carrier.

Dr. Wolfson has been in clinical practice in the Orlando area since 1978 and is a principal of the Regional Chiropractic Group.
